“EAP”
(Employee Assistance Program)
Some employers offer counselling services through an “EAP.”
This is a program to identify and help employees in resolving personal problems (e.g., marital, financial or emotional problems; family issues; substance/alcohol abuse).
Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP)
For patients with mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and related conditions.
Patients can self-refer.
CAMH
(The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health)
Offers extensive and variety of Mental Health supports.
TogetherAll
Peer to peer support. Moderated 24/7 by trained practitioners.
Connex Ontario
Provides services and information for people experiencing problems with gambling, drugs, alcohol, or mental health.
Helpful supportive system navigation specialists answer calls, emails, or web chats 24/7. Free and Confidential.
Mood Gym
This is an online self-help resource.
MoodGYM is a FREE, ONLINE self-help program to help depression.
It consists of five modules, an interactive game, anxiety and depression assessments, downloadable relaxation audio, a workbook and feedback assessment.
MoodGYM teaches the principles of a form of counselling call “CBT” (“Cognitive Behaviour Therapy”), which is a proven treatment for depression. It also demonstrates the relationship between thoughts and emotions, and works through dealing with stress.

E-Couch
This is an online self-help resource.
e-Couch is a FREE, ONLINE self-help program with modules for depression, generalized anxiety & worry, social anxiety, relationship breakdown, and loss & grief.
e-Couch provides information about emotional problems – what causes them, how to prevent them and how to treat them.
It includes exercises to help you understand yourself and others better. Even better, it provides you with a set of strategies that might help you to improve your life.

CHFHT Mental Health Counselling Program
If you are a patient at Central Hastings Family Health Team (CHFHT), then you can be referred to one of our mental health counsellors.
CHFHT provides free and confidential mental health counselling at the clinic.
You will need a referral from your doctor or nurse practitioner. You will be contacted and given an appointment date and time.
Due to high demand, the wait time for an appointment can be several weeks at times.

If someone else’s alcohol use is affecting you, Al-Anon can help.
They can provide help for friends and family members who are troubled by someone else’s drinking.

A counsellor can help you make sense of things when things don’t seem to make sense.
It’s a chance for you to have some time (appointments are usually an hour on average) to figure out what’s happening, make a plan, take a look at how you are reacting to situations, and develop new strategies.
