Unfortunately, Dr. Stewart will not be accepting any new patients for the foreseeable future. His wait list has been closed indefinitely.

This decision is due to significant changes the Ontario government is making to the way Family Doctors practice—changes expected to take effect in April 2026.

Under this new model, Family Doctors will no longer be rewarded for managing large, efficient practices. In fact, doctors who work this way may face financial penalties.

Instead, the new system will encourage smaller patient rosters and more frequent visits, potentially even returning to outdated approaches such as addressing only one issue per appointment.
