MedsChecks by Pharmacies
Interrupting Family Doctors While Getting Paid Twice as Much
Every fax. A piece of paper. Every message.
Costs Family Doctors time and resources. More importantly, it contributes to cumulative Decision Fatigue throughout every day.
I recently showed how even the simplest “FYI” notice costs Family Doctors at least $6 – much, much more if any sort of action or reply is required.
Recent news stories have exposed how pharmacies are unnecessarily pressuring pharmacists to perform “MedsChecks”. In return, the pharmacy is paid up to $75.
This is compared to the $37.95 a Family Doctor is paid to do a complete visit and all the associated adminstrative work – INCLUDING reviewing medications!
